Children and Families
At ReNew Community, we think that pursuing and worshiping God is a family event. From newborns to grandparents and everyone in between! You’ll see kids in our church service, and chances are you might hear them too. It’s okay–we like it that way!
Our desire is to come alongside parents in the spiritual formation of their youth. We want to provide opportunities for families to be empowered, equipped, and encouraged as they take charge of family faith on Sunday morning and all week long.
You are welcome to keep your little ones with you for the church service. We also provide some options for younger ones.
Newborn through Age 3: Nursery
We provide a safe and nurturing environment for little ones that may not do well in the service. We ensure your child’s safety with a secure, computerized check-in system.
Ages 4 through 1st Grade: ReNew Kids
Little ones can worship, learn a Bible lesson, and play with their peers in ReNew Kids. We also use a computerized check-in system for this age group, as well.
2nd Grade and up: Church
Typically, children join us in the worship service after finishing 1st grade. We have found that this opens up opportunities for families to be empowered, equipped, and encouraged as they take charge of family faith, not only on Sunday morning but all week long.
Other Things You May Be Wondering About
Is your church affiliated with a certain denomination?
We are affiliated with the Reformed Church of America. You can read more about the RCA here.
What is your church’s statement of faith?
Great question! We seek to operate in a way that lines up with what we say we believe. We align with Reformed view of Christian faith. You can read more about what we believe here.
How are you serving the Ames area?
We exist for the community, not just ourselves. This means we won’t just sit in church; we will get out and serve others. Want to come along? Check out our serving opportunities and how we’re investing in central Iowa and the world here!
How do I get more involved with the ReNew Community?
We believe that church is more than showing up for an hour on Sunday. If you’d like to get more involved with the community, click here. If you’re interested in our upcoming events, click here.
Who do I go to if I have questions?
On Sunday mornings, just look out for our Hospitality Team. They’ll have a lanyard and nametag on, and you may find them hanging out at the welcome table if you have any questions about the church service or where to go. If you would like to talk more about something you heard in a sermon or questions about your faith, Pastor Aaron would love to chat! You can email him anytime!
Is it okay if I don’t “have it all together”?
Well, we sure don’t, so we’re not expecting you to either! We believe in a God whose love is so much bigger than our biggest doubts, our worst mistakes, and our constant weaknesses. This isn’t a place where you have to get cleaned up before you come. We strive to be a place that is safe for anyone at any stage of life.
